• Toilet inside, outside, behind, and at the base
• Vanity, sink, mirror, and medicine cabinet interior
• Exhaust fan cover removed and washed
• Under-sink cabinet emptied and wiped
• Floors including behind the toilet and along the edges

3. Bedrooms, Living Areas, and Closets

• Every closet emptied, shelves wiped, rods dusted, floors vacuumed
• Ceiling fans and all light fixtures — including removing and washing glass covers
• Baseboards hand-washed throughout
• Door frames, doors, and switch plates
• Window interiors, sills, and tracks — tracks matter more than you think
• Blinds dusted or washed
• Wall scuffs spot-cleaned; nail holes filled if your lease requires it
• Air vent covers dusted

4. Everywhere Else

• Entryway, mudroom, and any laundry area including behind the machines
• Washer drum and dryer lint trap
• Garage swept, basement floor swept
• Stairs, railings, and every corner cobweb
• All floors vacuumed then mopped, edges included
• Every item of rubbish removed from the property, including the bins

The Details That Cost People Money

After enough of these jobs, the pattern is very consistent. These are the items that show up on deduction lists again and again:

• The oven, by a wide margin
• Refrigerator door seals
• Window tracks
• Exhaust fan covers in bathrooms
• Inside cabinets — people wipe the fronts and forget the interiors
• The dryer lint trap and the space behind the machines
• Light fixture covers, full of dust and insects

Doing It Yourself vs. Hiring It Out

A thorough move-out clean on a two-bedroom apartment realistically takes one person a full weekend, plus supplies. A professional team does it in a few hours, and most leases in this area are written such that the cost is less than a typical deduction.

The honest calculation: if your deposit is $1,500 and a professional clean protects it, the maths is not close. If you are mid-move with a truck booked, it is even less close.

When should I schedule move-out cleaning?

After the property is completely empty and before your final walkthrough. Empty is important — we cannot clean a floor covered in boxes. Book the date as soon as you know your moving day; end-of-month slots fill first.

Does move-out cleaning guarantee my deposit back?

No cleaning company can promise that, because deposits also cover damage, unpaid rent, and lease terms. What it does is remove cleanliness from the list of reasons to withhold it.

How long does it take?

Longer than a standard clean, because everything is empty and therefore visible. A typical two-bedroom takes several hours with a team.

Do you clean inside the oven and refrigerator?

Yes — on a move-out clean these are included as standard, not add-ons. They are the two most-inspected items in the home.

What about carpet cleaning?

We vacuum thoroughly but do not shampoo or steam clean. If your lease requires professional carpet treatment, you will need a carpet specialist as well.

Can you clean before I move in instead?
